Ok, I'm so absolutely tired I can't even think what to write. I had grand ideas about my holiday but it all seems so far away now, I can't think of too much detail. Time is a strange animal.
Mrs somers is tired out and asleep. Life is a landslide. Here is a pic of me at a sheep gate in Suffolk.

...even an end...
Where do I start? At the beginning I suppose.
Had such a brilliant holiday even though it began very stressfully. My beloved Volkswagon needed £600 of repairs to its poorly head gasket and was only ready the day before we left.
We drove down to Suffolk, which doesn't look far on the map, but takes three and a half hours due to the rubbish roads in Lincolnshire.
Bucks Farm is lovely. It's a courtyard of cottages with a pool, next to the owners house which dates back to 1541. It so happens that the owner- Ian, an ex teacher, knows virtually everyone that I know from our mutual home town, we spent all week talking about various aquaintances and relations. Between us there is not a person in East Retford we cannot pinpoint! Such a nice bloke, we got on really well.
We spent quite alot of time resting as Mrs Somers needs it ! -but did visit some very interesting Suffolk sites, more pix to follow...

Everlong
The start of two weeks holiday and I'm quite restless. Got to go to Nottingham to enrol as an official WEA tutor on Wednesday. Then off to Suffolk on Friday for a week.
Got another instrument up and ready for auction today, a lovely ukulele banjo. The electric mandolin has been stripped down to its' bare essentials as the laquer has gone all cloudy and shit. I've sanded it back to the wood and coated it in Danish oil, something I should have done to start with-bare oiled wood is always best and sounds better!

Show me, show me, show me how you do that trick...
Hi john and cazza and Lady Isabella! (if you're reading this) It's Saturday night and I can't believe I don't have to get up in the morning. We have an event on, a living history thing, but I couldn't give a shit as I'm on holiday for two whole weeks! Off to Suffolk in a weeks time, for a week of doing very little other than swimming and resting!
Meanwhile, here is an update on project X ....

Uno
Yesterday was the day of our second scan. I was too knackered to log it last night so here it is now. Everything is fine and very healthy, baby was wriggling and kicking like a hooligan (it is mine after all..!).

Is there any similarity to dadda yet... (scanners acan be such fun)

a tiger in my tank
YES!... yes, yes, yes...YES! (to be read in a "when harry met sally" style..).
I had an assimilation interview today for my Museum Post. It was not an interview I was assured but I still detected some point scoring and attitude/aptitude testing. Anyway, I got it! -hence the opening lines. It's not official but I was assured my jobb is safe, unfortunately I have to suffer a considerable increase in pay. Woe is me.
This is handy as it should just about pay for the faulty head gasket on my beloved Volkswagon Bora ( if anyone has had any similar problems please reply). It's such a brilliant car which is why I'm uber pissed off, I love driving it and it's giant enough to get in babyseat, baby, nappies etc...while still feeling like a cross between a sports car and a Tiger tank.
Another scan tomorrow, so more pictures to follow.
