Procrastinate! Procrastinate!
I have attained my all time career objective. I have been commissioned and fullfilled the job of... building a Dalek. Note Dalek with a capital D. It is with extreme reverence that such an undertaking should be, er, undertook.
Numerous cardboard boxes were used in the creation of the being. (I suspect actual galactic interlopers are constructed in much the same way). Car spray paint and tennis balls chopped in half were also necessary for interplanetary faschism.

Here comes the fear...
The other week I went on a first person representation course. This basically entails re-enacting the character of a person from history; not necessarily someone famous. Just a real life, three dimensional human. It was very difficult!
There were about fifteen of us from various museums.
We played lots of warm up games and exercises to build our confidence. Next we all had to tell a one minute story about something that had happened to us. It had to be entertaining, interesting and possibly have a punch line. By the end of the second day each of us had to be interviewed in our character. There was Mr Black the Victorian printer, Dr Obadiah, a rather dubious quack, Lord Thomas (a Tudor landowner) a land army girl from World War Two,...
a whole range of persona’s. I played my usual self as a Medieval jester and porter for the Lord. It was a thoroughly terrifying experience!
And now for a feast…
Well, time flies when you’re having fun, especially when building your own terracotta army, out of cardboard. The project is going well, we have a number of warriors, a horse, two praying priests, shields and hopefully soon, a backdrop for the stage.
We also need to work on the storylines and costumes. Its amazing how the weeks have flown by.
Referring to an earlier entry; we have seen no signs of supernatural visitors in the Tudor barn, although the caretaker did say she heard footsteps across the landing a few weeks back… It feels like a pretty friendly place to me, with a lot of history behind it.
