The green room. The playground. Milk.
The bump on the field,
my mum and dad waiting at the gates.

Pull yourself together
Oh stop moaning Will somers. Life is great! I have been playing in my new workshop. Even though I've been painting walls, filling mortar and such fun stuff,... I can't resist carrying on some other fun stuff that came to a jolting stop last year, when everything got packed and stacked. Below is my symphonie, also known as a hurdy gurdy, something I've been working on for quite a while.

It's weird finding stuff I packed in boxes late into the night down in my little old shed. Apparently the lady that bought our house is now trying to rent it out. She has also chopped my gorgeous lock ness monster ivy hedge into a flat line, which I am not impressed with. Our beautiful victorian splendor has been lost on this particular philistine...
Also pictured is the most important reason for keeping me sane yet driving me mad at the same time!

Butterflies and Hurricanes
Who would have thought it,three years down the line, I have a detached house and a son, sometimes it's difficult to equate my life. I never thought for a moment I would be living here, two minutes away from where I grew up- although it's far easier than before to get away, sort -of...strange times have passed. How many times have I walked past this house? I even delivered papers. There's even a ghost. No, really. That will be another entry.
This is all rambling as I keep thinking about a differant subject tonight, the subject is leaving for New Zealand in two months time. How do you quantify these things?
Wooaw! It doesn't get any easier, it gets further away, like a landslide.

Familiar
I'm still off work and supposably crippled- I actually don't feel too bad other than the odd twinge, but my nice lady Doctor gave me orders so I must obey.
I feel my ramblings are a little selfish considering my Canadian friend's blogging... although I understand to a point that family thing,... where do I start on mine!! There's a story in itself.
My thoughts go out to you all the time El ( as you know!).

Back in blak
I'm actually back in the habit of blogging, praps it's because I've been off work with lots of time to use. My back still hurts but is better. Looks like I'll miss this years Lark in the Park. Oh well, shit happens...
Like I said previously, I get time to do stuff, such as edit my photos and sort some artwork... here's some samples. Wow, I've done some weird shit!

Crippled...but busy.
Yep. Thats been me for the last two days, same as a couple of Chrismas's ago, I twisted my tummy and have been in agony since. Spent an hour yesterday morning laid on carpet with Sam prodding me,wondering why daddy keeps squealing! He intermittently found it really funny then abit scarey. At least while I'm laid up I get time to do something.
Last time I learnt to play clawhammer banjo! This time I'm managing to catch up on some photo editing. Here's a picture of auntie Dot with Scooby in their caravan, taken at the farming event at Bassetlaw Museum the other weekend.

Im ready for the laughing gas
At last...
A day of rest after five days of grinding at the heritage wheel.
Saturday and Sunday was a living history event, with no other than King Henry the Eighth visiting. Actually they were a really nice group and very professional. (They could give Lord Burgh's a run for their money...)
We sampled the food, (not quite as good as Lord B's) but still pretty yummy and authentic.
Shame their musician wasn't present- would have given it a bit more life. I was dying to play but had washing up duties. Managed to have a tinkle as they were all packing up though!
It wasn't the busiest weekend ever which is a shame as they were really good.
Spooky thing is, I've already met the organiser. We met at Framlingham, three years ago. I asked him out of the blue where he got his kit from as I was a punter-on my last holiday with my six month gone pregnant wifey...
That was a differant life, utterly.
Anyway, here is a picture of me and rick with some very well supported ladies of the age. We were having trouble focusing on the photographer at this point...

Absolution
Yes,they are fixed, or nearly. The drain that is. The water company had laid a pipe on top of our sewer pipe and crushed it. This is the same company that came in February and catagorically denied any responsibility. This is Severn Trent by the way (so sue me.)
Main thing is,I don't have to pay for three blokes sunbathing for six hours then digging for one, over three days!

The dark is rising
...and so is the shit. This has not been one of the best days...
The drains people finally came to fix my sewer. The road was closed, workmen came,then.... they sunbathed. About 12-30 they cut a metre square hole in the road then sunbathed.
At four, when they had all gone after a hard day, an official from highways came and went ape shit. Then a lady (I use that word very loosely) gave me an ear bending for having closed the road and putting a skip in the middle (which I of course did personally, just to annoy her) She then got a bollocking off the said officer, did a three point turn and nearly ran over his foot. You just couldn't make this stuff up.
It then absolutely threw it down and I got a soaking after delivering a very patient Samuel to his grandparents.
Having realised that the previously mentioned lady lives next to grandparents, I hammered on her door and returned the earbashing. Most of the neighbours now hate me it would seem.

So many...
What a crap day. We are imminently hosting an exhibition on Henry the 8ths accession to the throne. The exhibition has been sent from Lincoln central, only-oops, we haven't made any labels for the exhibits. I wonder who knows how to print stuff like this and is a complete muggins who ( as per usual for every show) will save our over paid arses from our lack of planning.
Yep-that's me by the way. I sat up till gone midnight last night trying to set the layouts, then spent all today dealing with a print company that seems to be monumentally thick.
Every time this happens, it drives me mad, why are they so hapless?!!!
Anyway, happy birthday Christia! Sam says hi...
